How a match is decided

Every result is assembled from steps you can inspect, and every verdict points back to the study's own wording.

  1. Step 1

    Retrieve and filter

    We search the synced registry with your structured details: condition, age, sex, recruitment status and distance. Studies you cannot join are filtered out before anything is scored.

  2. Step 2

    Evaluate each criterion

    A deterministic rule engine compares your information against each structured eligibility criterion and marks it matched, not met, or unknown. Unknown stays unknown; it is never guessed.

  3. Step 3

    Score and explain

    A 0-100 match score combines condition relevance, criteria met, semantic similarity, location fit and profile completeness. The explanation quotes the study wording it came from.

Honest answers

Three states, never two

Most tools force every criterion into yes or no. Real eligibility does not work that way — a great deal of it is simply unknown until someone asks you. We keep that third state visible, because collapsing it is how a screening tool starts misleading people.

    Your information appears to satisfy the criterion.

  • Mismatch

    Your information appears to conflict with the criterion.

  • Unknown

    There is not enough information to evaluate it. Never silently treated as a match or a mismatch.
